Announcing new 2026-2027 Seed Grant awards and Clinical Fellowships
The Hopkins Centre is proud to award 11 new projects under The Hopkins Centre Interdisciplinary Seed Grant and Clinical Fellowship funding scheme. These projects will commence in 2026, with an expected end date in June 2027.
Congratulations to all grant award winners! 
These grant awards take our total seed grants from 42 to a 49 grand total and with 3 new long-term clinical fellowships, to a total of 15 long-term Clinical fellowships. We also awarded our fourth short-term clinical fellowship bright sparks capacity building grant for the second year in a row, coming to a total of 4 bright sparks capacity building grants.

Interdisciplinary Seed Grants - Round 9:
- Awarded to CI Kate Graving from Metro South Health for project, 'Feasibility and Acceptability of a Virtual Reality Graded Exposure Intervention for Persistent Dizziness Following Brain Injury in Outpatient Rehabilitation'.
- Awarded to CI Katie Barrett from Metro South Health for project, 'Implementation of an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)-Informed Psychosocial Group Program for Inpatients of the Queensland Spinal Injuries Unit'.
- Awarded to CI Louise Bassingwaighte from Griffith University for project, 'Simulated Driving, Real Journeys: Exploring Driving Performance and Gaze Behaviour Following Acquired Brain Injury'.
- Awarded to CI Jayke Bennett from Griffith University for project, 'VR Nature for Neuropathic Pain Management: Application to People with Spinal Cord Injuries in Inpatient Settings'.
- Awarded to CI Emily Bray from Griffith University for project, 'Enhancing emotional wellbeing and self-advocacy skills during vocational re engagement after spinal cord injury: A co-designed peer mentorship intervention'.
- Awarded to CI Christy Hogan from Griffith University for project, 'Fatigue management following traumatic brain injury: co-development of a consensus statement and practical resources'.
- Awarded to CI Rachel Brough from Griffith University for project, 'Co-design and piloting of the Project Buddies program to support people with acquired brain injury to participate in personally meaningful projects'.
Clinical Fellowships:
- Awarded to CI Alena Murray from Metro South Health for fellowship project, 'Evaluate and explore vocation rehabilitation (VR) clinical framework and tools implemented by ABI TRS VR program'. (long-term clinical fellowship)
- Awarded to CI Danielle Ferguson from Metro South Health for fellowship project, 'Breathe to Rebuild: Enhancing Inspiratory Muscle Training for Spinal Cord Injury Recovery'. (long-term clinical fellowship)
- Awarded to CI Soraya Cunningham from Metro South Health for fellowship project, 'Exploring body composition changes and care during extended rehabilitation for people with ABI'. (long-term clinical fellowship)
