Manager, Acquired Brain Injury Transitional Rehabilitation Service (ABI TRS), Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service, Princess Alexandra Hospital
Areti has worked extensively in ABI community rehabilitation for the past 20 years. She is currently manager of the newly-established Acquired Brain Injury Transitional Rehabilitation Service (ABI TRS) at Princess Alexandra Hospital. This is a 5-year pilot project to examine the clinical, process and economic outcomes of a specialist ABI, transitional, community rehabilitation service. She is further interested in undertaking collaborative research to investigate the context and activity of ABI rehabilitation services in this immediate post- hospital discharge period, which has been identified as a critical phase in recovery and rehabilitation after Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), during which individuals and their families begin adjusting and adapting to living with the impact of ABI in the home and community environments.
