Hopkins 2026 Mid-Year Research Highlights

Update from Hopkins Director desk, Prof. Tim Geraghty,

With the first half of the year now in the rear-view mirror, our July Wrap-Up newsletter is a great opportunity to pause and reflect on our progress so far in 2026. It’s been another incredibly busy year so far with no sign of things slowing down any time soon. This week we acknowledge National Pain Week, a vital time to raise awareness of the lived experience of those managing persistent pain. We hope you were able to engage with us on our social media campaign, our Pain Week aligned Hopkins Hour and our focus on advancing research to improve life with pain.

The Hopkins team is also in the thick of mid-year reporting, a time to take stock of our progress and impact. We are pleased to have started 18 new research projects so far this year and published a further 47 new research publications.

I want to thank all our teams, partners, and supporters for your continued commitment throughout 2026 and as we move into the second part of the year, we look forward to working closely with you all to fulfil our mission to find solutions to complex challenges through interdisciplinary, collaborative, and responsive research, that is embedded in practice.
