Hopkins Hour - Worth Asking - Accessible communication in healthcare and research
Join The Hopkins Centre on Wednesday 16 September 2026 at 12.30pm for a one hour online research session. Hosted by Hopkins Inclusive Futures research Dr Kelsey Chapman, the session will feature findings from Hopkins seed grant project on co-producing resources for clinicians and people with Spinal Cord Injuries in Queensland.
Asking a question sounds simple. In practice it depends on having the right information, in the right format, at a moment when someone is willing to wait for the answer. For people with SCI, ABI, and especially those with communication support requirements, these conditions are frequently absent, in hospital and in research.
This Hopkins Hour session looks at what it takes to close the gap and the practical approaches already being used to do it. The session will feature You CAN Ask That, a co-designed resource supporting people with spinal cord injuries to ask the questions that matter most to them, alongside presentations about accessible communication tools and methods drawn from both clinical practice and research.
Event link and further details coming shortly.
