Launch of Citizen Research Essentials short course - Building Disability Led Research Capability

Citizen Research Essentials led by Dr Kelsey Chapman and Rebekah Barker, is an innovative online micro-credential co-designed by Griffith University and people with disability, and sponsored by the National Disability Research Partnership. The course equips people with disability with the knowledge and practical skills to become citizen researchers — taking active, leadership roles in research projects grounded in lived experience.

Designed for flexibility and accessibility, the course supports participants to lead or co-lead research, partner with professional researchers, help shape research priorities, collect and analyse data, and share findings with their communities. No formal research qualifications are required — lived experience is central. The program can be completed at your own pace, individually, with a support worker, or in a group setting, and includes accessibility features such as captions, transcripts and Auslan interpretation in selected materials.

The course is currently transitioning to a new learning platform and will be accepting enrolments soon. Expressions of interest are invited for the upcoming relaunch.
