Understanding what self-advocacy means after brain injury

A person who sustains a brain injury is likely to experience many transitions in their care and rehabilitation, as they move between different health services & settings. Where transitions are not well supported, there is a risk that the person may feel their needs and preferences are overlooked or don’t matter. This study aims to improve these transitions for people.

Metro South Health's ABI TRS Update

The ABI Transitional Rehabilitation Service (ABI TRS) provides adults with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and their families with a co-ordinated post-discharge clinical pathway and improved access to intensive rehabilitation beyond the hospital setting. It also contributes to improving longer-term community outcomes for people with ABI and their families.
