HabITec is very excited to share the completion of our first non-health professional student placement within a healthcare setting here at the PAH. HabITec is collaborating with the School of Information and Communications Technology at Griffith University to explore ways that software technology can help people with disabilities. Final year students completed a Work Integrated Learning placement exploring the 'Feasibility of the use of virtual assistants in the hospital setting'. They consulted the IT department and completed site visits at PAH to complete a report with recommendations outlining the most feasible products within the healthcare setting; IT support required; and the adaptability and the useability for patients with varying levels of disability.
