Jessica Walker

Senior Research Assistant, The Hopkins Centre, Griffith University Jess is a Senior Research Assistant at The Hopkins Centre and is currently finalising her PhD in the School of Computer Science at QUT. She has a background in psychology, human-computer interaction, videogames and wellbeing. Jess has experience in qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods research, and has contributed to both NHMRC and ARC funded projects, spanning digital wellbeing, extended reality and education.

 

Jess is particularly interested in research that meaningfully integrates lived experience into both research and design. Her PhD examines the role of basic psychological needs in fostering healthy digital media engagement, and she aims to extend these principles through exploring how technologies can be designed and used in ways that facilitate autonomy, inclusion, and wellbeing for people with disability.
