New Research Project to Help People with Brain Injury Speak Up and Navigate Their Care

The project, titled “Facilitating choice and agency when cognition is compromised: Enhancing self-advocacy skills for system navigation for people with acquired brain injury”, aims to help people with brain injury better understand, manage and speak up about their healthcare.

A person who sustains a brain injury is likely to experience many transitions in their care and rehabilitation, as they move between different health services & settings. Where transitions are not well supported, there is a risk that the person may feel their needs and preferences are overlooked or don’t matter. This study aims to improve these transitions for people.
