BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - APPLY NOW

The Hopkins Centre: Research for Rehabilitation and Resilience is a joint initiative between the Division of Rehabilitation, Metro South Hospital and Health Service and Menzies Health Institute Queensland (MHIQ), Griffith University.

The Centre’s research is actively contributing to the creation of places, relationships, practices and systems that promote health and quality of life by:

  • Developing inter-disciplinary and trans-disciplinary responses to complex health and social issues
  • Collaborating with industry, government and community to increase the relevance of research
  • Building Capacity to appreciate and apply evidence-based practice and policy-making
  • Supporting the translation of knowledge into practice and policy

 

This is a fixed term part-time position, commencing in September 2017, until December 2021. The position will be equally based across workplaces at the Division of Rehabilitation, Princess Alexandra Hospital and Griffith University Logan campus. The successful candidate will also be required to travel to and undertake duties externally with research partners and at other Griffith University campuses.

The Role:

Reporting to the Executive Director of The Hopkins Centre, this role will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing research partnership opportunities for the Centre including activities of strategic relevance to Metro South Health, the School of Human Services and Social Work and the Menzies Health Institute Queensland, Griffith University. The position will contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the Centre, enhance the capacity of the Executive and leadership team and provide a leadership role to the research support unit.

The Person:

The successful person will hold tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline with equivalent combination of applicable experience, education and training.

The person appointed to this position will have demonstrated experience in developing and implementing successful fundraising and/or development initiatives, strategies, programs and events in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders incorporating knowledge of the latest fundraising trends and research. Additionally, they will have experience in initiating, developing and maintaining high level relationships with existing and potential benefactors, corporate and private sector networks and key stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, the person must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including report writing, grant writing, negotiation skills, and the ability to undertake donor research and analyse results. Furthermore, they will have an immaculate attention to detail, an ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, and well-developed relationship management skills with the ability to liaise with colleagues at all levels, and to present a professional image of the Centre in a range of settings. A demonstrated understanding of the research, clinical and funding environments in which the Centre operates is also ideal.

Salary Range:

Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $73,372.94 - $87,709.97 FTE per annum
