Shannon Galletly is the Nurse Unit Manager of the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit at Princess Alexandra Hospital, with more than 25 years of experience in nursing, leadership and healthcare management. Her expertise spans brain injury rehabilitation, service improvement, workforce development, quality and safety, and strategic healthcare planning.
Shannon is passionate about improving outcomes for people with acquired brain injury and is building her research experience to contribute to new knowledge and translational practice, with particular interests in neurobehaviour management, falls prevention, models of care, environmental adaptations and the use of artificial intelligence in rehabilitation.
Shannon is the recipient of a new 2026 Bright Sparks grant for the project titled 'Patterns of care, outcomes, and resource use for patients with complex neurobehaviour in a subacute brain injury rehabilitation in patient unit: a retrospective clinical audit'. View project information here.
