The provision of Livable Housing design: The costs and benefits to Australian society

About the Project

This research gave voice to people whose needs are not met through the current mainstream housing system. This report will inform a Discussion Paper prepared by the Australian Network for Universal Housing Design regarding the regulation of minimum access features in all new housing developments, as well as COAG's Regulatory Impact Assessment. If minimum access features were to be mandated and regulated in the National Construction Code, housing modification costs under the CTP and NIISQ schemes may be reduced.
