Kylie Bower

Kylie Bower has worked as an occupational therapist in rehabilitation in Sydney and Brisbane, primarily with people with stroke. During the 12 years, her clinical work has reflected interests in translating stroke guidelines into clinical practice, client-centred goal-directed therapy, cross-disciplinary approaches to post stroke upper limb assessment and management, and multidisciplinary stroke education. Although the arrival of a number of babies interrupted her plans to complete a PhD, she has enjoyed partnering with occupational therapy students to complete a number of descriptive studies in stroke rehabilitation. Kylie's current clinical research interests include exploring service models and initiatives that help manage a rising demand for stroke rehabilitation, such as self-management approaches to stroke rehabilitation, and the emerging role of technology-based interventions.
