Congratulations to Hopkins' Dr Samantha Borg on Achieving Her PhD
The Hopkins Centre is delighted to congratulate Dr Samantha Borg on the successful completion of her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), marking an exciting milestone in her research career.
A Senior Research Assistant with The Hopkins Centre and Griffith University, Dr Borg completed her PhD at Queensland University of Technology, where her research investigated opioid use following spinal cord injury. Her work has generated important evidence to better understand opioid prescribing patterns and support improved rehabilitation and healthcare outcomes for people living with spinal cord injury.
Sharing the news on LinkedIn, Dr Borg expressed her excitement at officially being able to add "Dr" to her title and thanked her PhD supervisors—Professor Victoria McCreanor, Professor Cate Cameron, Professor Tim Geraghty, Professor Zephanie Tyack and Professor Steve McPhail—for their guidance and support throughout her doctoral journey.
Since joining The Hopkins Centre in 2017, Dr Borg has contributed to a range of significant research initiatives, including the Making Complex Interfaces Work for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) project, the International Spinal Cord Injury (InSCI) Community Survey and the Aus-InSCI Translation Project. Her research continues to advance understanding of the lived experiences of people with spinal cord injury while helping translate evidence into improvements in rehabilitation practice, services and policy.
The Hopkins Centre is proud to celebrate Dr Borg's achievement and the dedication she has shown throughout her PhD.
We look forward to seeing her continue to make a meaningful impact through collaborative, person-centred rehabilitation research that improves outcomes for people living with disability.
