My story begins in 2013 when I fell off my bike as I was navigating a pathway. I had cycled the path many times before, but a split-second decision to give way changed my life. I broke my tibia and fibula in my right ankle and required emergency realignment then surgery (Weber Type C – worst category said the A&E doctor).

Gary Kerridge has been working in the disability sector for 30 years. He has spent 14 of those years as a National Disability Coordination Officer (NDCO). Recently, he was part of the NDCO leadership team that responded to the transition to online learning brought about by COVID-19 to provide support and information to disability practitioners around Australia. He is a co-author of the Australian Disability Clearinghouse on Education and Training (ADCET) guideline “Supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students Online”.
